The Opportunity

At City Fertility, we combine cutting-edge fertility treatments with deeply personalised care.

We are seeking skilled nurses with scrub/scout experience to join our perioperative team working across our Jolimont and Notting Hill clinics. You will play a pivotal role in supporting individuals and couples through every step of the process every day, your knowledge, empathy, and encouragement will make a real and lasting impact.  

As a Perioperative Nurse, primarily working in our Jolimont and Notting Hill clinics you will work as part of a competent team assisting with:

  • Pre-operative Preparation and Patient Verification (including surgical checklists and consent confirmation)
  • Scrub/Scout Duties (instrument preparation, sterile field setup, and intraoperative assistance)
  • Intraoperative Support and Monitoring (anticipating surgeon needs, maintaining aseptic technique, and supporting patient safety)
  • Instrument and Equipment Management (handling, counting, and ensuring availability of surgical instruments and consumables)
  • Post-Operative Care
  • Patient Education & Support
  • Multiskilling – admissions, scrub and scouting

About You:

We are looking for a highly motivated, compassionate, and patient-focused Registered Nurse who will work collaboratively with the Perioperative Nursing team, Laboratory Team, and IVF Nursing Team.  You will be willing to provide support to across both clinics if required and ideally have an interest in cross-training with our IVF Nurses.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree or higher (for Registered Nurse)
  • Post graduate certificate in perioperative nursing
  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Scrub/Scout (Perioperative Theatre) role
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Advanced Life Support (ALS) preferred).

Knowledge and Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of day surgery (theatre) nursing.
  • Computer literate.
  • Adherence to Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) National Competency Standards for Registered Nurses.
  • Familiarity with National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) Standards.
  • Strong skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and communication.
