Job Description

If you thrive on reliability, teamwork and precise execution in clinical settings, this role is for you. As a Theatre Technician, you’ll be part of a compassionate, respectful and quality-driven team making a meaningful difference behind the scenes—so every patient feels safe, supported and heard on their fertility journey. This is a permanent part-time role (Shifts: Mon-Wed-Fri 7:00am to 1:30pm) across two sites, Jolimont & Notting Hill (VIC)

 

Position Purpose

The Theatre Technician supports City Fertility’s perioperative and day hospital associated teams to deliver safe, high‑quality, compassionate care. You’ll prepare and maintain theatres and clinical environments to the highest standards, working closely with nurses and clinicians to enable calm, efficient patient flow and excellent clinical outcomes—all aligned to our values of Compassion, Respect, Commitment, Quality, and Communication.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating theatres daily, ensuring all equipment is ready and functional
  • Maintain and care for theatre and clinical equipment, reporting faults promptly
  • Assist perioperative teams with patient positioning, preparation, and transfers
  • Clean, reset, and restock theatres between procedures to infection control standards
  • Manage waste, linen, and stock in line with WHS and infection control requirements
  • Support recovery areas and staff facilities as required
  • Assist with transporting patients to hospital discharge zone
  • Communicate effectively with clinical teams to support smooth patient flow
  • Uphold City Fertility’s standards for privacy, safety, and professional conduct

What we are looking for?

  • Experience working in a clinical, healthcare, or theatre environment (or strong willingness to learn)
  • Certificate in Theatre Technician preferred – TAFE or Hospital Course Certificate
  • Ability to follow established procedures with attention to detail and reliability
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to prioritise in a fast-paced setting
  • Clear, respectful communication skills aligned with compassionate patient care
  • Commitment to infection control, WHS standards, and teamwork
