Job Description

City Fertility is seeking a day hospital clinical coder to join our team as we expand our City Health Day Hospitals.

Your Role:

In your role you will support the City Health Day Hospital team by participating in all aspects of ICD-10-AM coding for our two-day hospitals, located in Notting Hill and Jolimont. Working either in clinic or remotely you’ll work alongside our clinical administration team assisting in documentation improvement, health fund billing compliance, revenue optimisation, auditing and provide advice and interpretation of specific coding, casemix and DRG related matters. Initially supporting our Victorian team, there’s potential scope for support to be provided to our interstate day hospitals.

We are looking for someone who is patient-focused, compassionate, supportive, and a team promoter. Ideally, you will bring the following to the role:

  • Dedicated Experience: Basic to Intermediate experience in Clinical Coding for Day Hospitals using ICD-10-AM classification system.
  • Tech Proficiency: Experience with day surgery software FYDO and Dox (highly regarded)
  • Industry Know-How: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of casemix and diagnosis related groups (DRG) along with sound knowledge of the Australian Coding Standards and clinical coding issues.
  • Communication Mastery: Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Precision Matters: Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Time Management: Demonstrated excellent time management.

In addition to the above we also require the following:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management) or equivalent tertiary qualification; or
  • Successful completion of a recognized coding course (Qualification from HIMAA is highly regarded)
